In the Netherlands there is a great variety of housing possibilities: rooms, apartments, single family dwellings, and residences.
In what is called the Randstad (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht area) it may not be very easy to find a reasonably priced house. Check the ads in both local and national newspapers or simply check all posters behind house windows with the text ‘te huur' (for rent) or ‘te koop' (for sale). By all means register at a housing agency or a real estate agent in your neighbourhood. They can do a specific search for you. Enquire after the fee the agent will charge you for his or her search and mediation. You could consider finding a room mate, it obviously saves costs.
